What is McKinsey Redrock?
McKinsey Redrock is the data case in Solve. You are given a study on a fictional island (habitats, species, or a similar ecosystem) and you have 35 minutes to investigate, calculate, and recommend.
Forums still say Redrock Island, Redrock Study, or Red Rock case study. Same module. It sits next to Sea Wolf in every Solve sitting; it is the one most candidates should practise first.
Where Redrock sits in Solve
Redrock is always 35 minutes. You complete it in the same sitting as Sea Wolf (30 minutes). A 65-minute invite is those two modules. An 85-minute invite usually adds Sustainable Futures Lab after them.

The four Redrock phases
Redrock is 35 minutes, one sitting. Time pressure is the hard part; the maths is percentages, probability, and reading a table.

Investigation
Read the study information and exhibits. Capture facts in the journal. You are selecting and organising, not hunting for hidden clues.

Analysis
Answer quantitative questions from the materials you collected. The on-screen calculator can pull values from the journal. You can still go back to Investigation.

Report
Write a short recommendation (fill-in-the-blank) and build a chart. Once Report starts, you cannot return to earlier phases.

Cases
Standalone maths questions (percentages, probability, charts) independent of the island case. Six questions, still on the clock.
How to prepare
Run at least one full timed case in the real interface. That teaches the journal, the calculator, and the Report lock: the parts McKinsey does not let you rehearse. Drill percentages and probability on paper if those feel rusty; the strategy detail lives in the Redrock strategy guide .

What is McKinsey Redrock?
McKinsey Redrock is the 35-minute case-study module in the Solve Game. You analyse a fictional ecosystem, use a journal and calculator, then submit a short written and visual report. Search results also call it Redrock Island, the Redrock Study, or the Red Rock case study. Those names all refer to this module.
Is Redrock Island the same as the Redrock Study?
Yes. Redrock Island is the setting; Redrock Study is the task name McKinsey uses. Both are the same 35-minute case inside Solve, alongside Sea Wolf.
How long is the McKinsey Redrock game?
35 minutes, in the same sitting as Sea Wolf (and Sustainable Futures Lab if your invite is 85 minutes). You cannot pause mid-module.
How hard is McKinsey Redrock?
The maths is secondary-school level: percentages, probability, means, and charts. Candidates lose time on the interface and the Report lock-in, not on the formulas. One timed practice case removes most of that surprise.
Can I practice McKinsey Redrock for free?
McKinsey does not publish a full practice case. Solve Games Guide includes one free Redrock case with the same four-phase flow. No credit card.
