Imbellus
Imbellus built the original digital assessment games. McKinsey acquired the company and now brands that assessment as the Solve Game, also called the Problem Solving Game.
What happened to Imbellus?
Older forum threads, PDFs, and search queries still say Imbellus. They mean the timed digital assessment McKinsey sends after your application, before interviews.
The current product name is Solve. The modules are Redrock, Sea Wolf, and (for some invites) Sustainable Futures Lab. Read the McKinsey Solve Game hub for duration, modules, and how recruiting fits together.
Imbellus FAQ
Legacy name, same assessment.
Is Imbellus the same as the McKinsey Solve Game?
Yes. Imbellus built the original digital games. McKinsey acquired the company and now brands the assessment as Solve. Search results that still say Imbellus are referring to this test.
What games were in Imbellus?
The modules candidates practise today (Redrock case study and Sea Wolf constraint optimisation, plus Sustainable Futures Lab for some invites) sit in the same assessment lineage. Older forum posts may use Imbellus when they mean Solve.
Can I still practice Imbellus?
There is no separate Imbellus practice product. Practising the McKinsey Solve Game is practising what people used to call Imbellus. Solve Games Guide offers free Redrock, Sea Wolf, and SFL practice.
Practice what used to be called Imbellus
One free Sea Wolf session, one Redrock case, and one SFL scenario. No credit card.
