Sea Wolf Cheat Sheet

Phase-by-phase rules we use at Solve Games Guide — profiling, categorising, prospecting, and treatment.

Profiling Phase

You will be asked to profile for 2 characteristics that will make them appear more frequently in the microbes you see in the game. This does not actually affect gameplay or have any impact on later phases — it is just for McKinsey to test your logic optimisation. You should choose these because these 2 targets are the rarest:

A) The desired trait

Select the site’s desired trait as one of your two characteristics.

B) The site’s target attribute that is the greatest outlier

Choose the attribute target furthest from 5 (i.e. the greatest outlier).

Categorising Phase

You will have to categorise microbes into 3 buckets: current site, next site, and return. You will be able to see current site’s target and a single target from next site. Like the previous phase, this doesn’t actually affect gameplay and impact later phases — it is just for McKinsey to test your logic optimisation. The rules we use at Solve Games Guide are as follows:

  1. 1) Current site: If a microbe meets at least 2 targets AND does not have the undesired trait.
  2. 2) Next site: If it does meet the next site’s target AND is not suitable for the current site. (This means it can have the current site’s undesired trait and still be sent to the next site.)
  3. 3) Return: If it is not suitable for neither the current nor next site.

Prospecting Phase

This phase DOES affect gameplay and your final pool of microbes from where you will select your treatment from.

  1. The only hard rule here is do not select microbes with the undesired trait.
  2. Otherwise, your focus should be on optimising towards the site’s targets. This might mean selecting microbes that don’t always have attributes within target or the desired trait as long as it helps the overall pool.

Treatment Phase

  1. Try and select a combination that scores 100%. Sometimes this is not possible and you may only get a max score of 80%.
  2. Do not select microbes with the undesired trait for your final treatment. If the choice is between missing a target attribute or using a microbe with the undesired trait to achieve the target attribute, you should still avoid choosing a microbe with the undesired trait, even if the final score is equivalent.
